Learning English

I started to learn English when I was 5. Since then, I had studied English Conversation for 10 years. It was not my will, but it may be good for me. However I had no idea about English. I was a child, so I didn`t know what English was. I got used to speak English, and I felt it interesting.

First change was junior high school days. English class was started at school, but I thought it impossible. Because I had never studied grammar. I had studied just only conversation. I had to study again.

Second change was senior high school days. When I was 1st grade, I went to Singapore and Malaysia as homestay for 10 days. I enjoyed to communicate because I was not afraid of speaking English. The next year, I went to Hong Kong as homestay for 10 days too. I felt my vocabulary was poor. Those 2 abroad experience were important as same as my school life. After graduation, I decided to go to Cambodia alone. I stayed there for a week. I spent a comfortable days. I watched a lot of things. I did a lot of things.

Third change was National Defense Academy days. In fact, I had no time to speak English and study English. Fortunately, another big factor changed my dream. I decided to left school. In addition, because of many private circumstances, I entered this school. Now, I must study English.

I think English is very useful tool to communicate with foreigners. But also, I think English is only a tool. Not a purpose. Without Japanese skill and social knowledge, we can`t speak enough English. Recently, some people say that children should be taught English at elementary school. I am not agreed with the opinion. To study only English is danger for young generation, I think.

Finally, I tell you about another language. I studied Arabic, but too dificult to understand for me. If I have a chance, I want to study Arabic again. I want to visit Islamic country. Now, I study Chinese. There are lot of overseas Chinese in the world. Chinese may have a strong power as important as English. Actually, I saw many chinese in Singapore and Hong Kong. Even in Cambodia. So I choose Chinese this school.
